Indecipherable screeching. Once: Game writing at Game Informer (Intern), Paste, places you never heard of. Now: Game, 3D art, and IRL tinkering.

Me, downloading a horror game: Wow, this seems neat.

Me, the second the game even hints at a monster: Fuck this shit. Fuck ya'll. *uninstall*
Every time I go to put the like $400 in parts necessary to whip up a half decent PC to leave in my makerspace studio in my cart, I delete it an walk away, and every time I have to build something on this accursed laptop, I think about going and putting it all back in the cart again.

This is next level creepy bullshit on the part of Ziff Davis. "You can opt out, but we're not even going to let you do it via checking these boxes. Instead you need to fill out a form, or we'll literally spy on you." Go hit yourself in the balls with a mace, is the response I'm vibing with here.

Feeling way less excited about the prospect of new Valve hardware now that I'm several days into my Steam Deck failing into battery storage mode and refusing to turn back on even when plugged into a damn wall with no battery connected. Seems like a very amateurish mode of failure.

So apparently my Steam Deck might revive itself if I let the battery run all the way down, because it might have trapped itself in "storage" mode. Very "the docs are all in comic sans" vibes for that bug to still exist on this thing.

It would be really great if people who enjoy FOSS stuff didn't also regularly respond to people who use, but have issues with, FOSS stuff and outline it, by telling them to go do work to fix said FOSS stuff.

I realize that FreeCAD is catering to a very specific, noisily opinionated variety of person, but man... it'd be real cool if the UX was streamlined in any of the ways that other packages are so that using it wasn't like pulling teeth.

This would be way more effective as a headline if PC Gamer didn't have a staff member who wrote a whole piece rejoicing about how AI was going to put pretentious artists out of a job and allow him to finally enjoy games without their input. What a heinously cynical outlet.

I wish the holidays were less like two months of the entire world sub-tweeting snarky dunks on the state of my life.

I can't seem to find a review of The Outer Worlds 2 that explains whether or not the writers this time around found it in themselves to not sneer down their noses at anyone who isn't a right of center liberal while constantly proving that they're incapable of reading a book on any given topic.

I ate a Twizzler, and it occurred to me that Twizzlers are a fundamentally evil candy. Like, aside from the shit in it that's awful for you, the entire product is constructed around only selling the second worst flavor (strawberry), and never, ever selling the best (cherry).

It's fun to read all the definitely 100% real gaming outlets quoted in the Black Ops 7 TV spot and try to figure out what they're pretending to be.

I've reached what I call "fuck it, I want to do something fun" phase, and have started in on this little charging station.

It's kinda wild how badly YouTube both wants me to watch the channels of people Linus Tech Tips fired, but also to believe that they were all fired because someone reported on the people in charge doing a bad job and being shady about things like the backpacks, not because of the shit.

As if I needed more bad tech luck, I have found the Apple Pencil that replaced my original one after it inexplicably stopped working. (It got knocked off and rolled under my bed.) It does not appear to be charging anymore. Which sucks because I wanted to try Procreate for doing some texture work.

I'm very comfortable saying that developers who rely on anti-cheat with dangerously low level system access, essentially spyware / ransomware, they forfeit any right to tut tut people over security issues, because they're creating an unfathomably large attack vector for a video game.

Lmao I just died in V Rising because my useless TCL TV just randomly decided to turn off in the middle of a boss fight

So, aside from the obvious faux nostalgia nonsense, what is up with this video YouTube really wants me to watch. It's suggested it with at least half a dozen different thumbnails now. Is that a thing on the creator side where you can upload alternatives or is dude just on one?

Today I am basking in the dueling rumble of a diesel boom lift some clown contractors are using to put siding on a nearby house and multiple lawnmowers. It's amazing how you can just hear that shit through everything no matter what you do.

I'm over here just plugging shit into other shit and truly achieving spectacularly novel ways to break Blender's viewport tonight, presumably because I'm on an ancient GTX 1050Ti laptop and Arch Linux and have no idea what I'm doing.
November 22, 2025 at 10:42 PM
At some point I will squirrel away enough time to be done blocking this out. Maybe tonight.

This bit from the Kevin Roose and Casey Newton interview of Roblox CEO is unbelievably absurd from so many different vectors.
