This little incident a couple weeks ago got recreated in this gift sketch from @amomon.bsky.social 😅

#abdl
An sketch illustration of an “uhh”ing Rhodes smushing his hand on his full diaper to check it.

Girl, you’re torrenting. This ain’t Disney plus. Those codes are for the media server to chew on, not you.

Comics are valid!! I love breaking up the pace with really heavy novels by switching to graphic novels/manga in between books.

I usually do like one heavy book and then one graphic novel/light fantasy novel.
rockhardhudson.bsky.social
Less me thinking it’s not valid or shouldn’t be said and more just trying to balance mental energies for this stuff and stay positive/hopeful while staying real. It’s a balancing act.

Those are all cool uses of free time! I think storytelling is just an innate human activity we should devote time to experiencing and learning and practicing.

me and anti-kink furries aren't in the same community. i'm in the furry community. the one that started at sci-fi conventions in the 80s. they're in some other community with the same name.

They are so fun! Fiction books have largely replaced television for me at this point. I find they’re so much more rewarding than tv time, and they also help me unwind and sleep at a normal time at the end of the day.

Being sweaty about Deadlock 🤝 being sweaty about understanding Pynchon

Sorry I’m in a ☝️🤓 soapbox-y mood today about AI slop

We will return to scheduled programming of heavy, fwumpy poopy diapers momentarily

I think it just takes sticking with it! Anyone can finish a book if they just devote the time.

I got out the habit of reading after undergrad but got back into through a book club that forced me to read a book at a steady pace. That + discussing books got me back into it.

The library is free and has every book you could ever want — from contemporary graphic novels to art reference coffee tables books to classic literature.

In an era where we’re inundated with slop and garbage knowledge, keeping up reading is an incredible gift to yourself and others.

“I just don’t have time to read anymore”

You logged 26 hours in Deadlock this week bro

“I don’t have the attention span to read anymore”

An incredible reason to start reading.

“Books just don’t interest me”

Book narratives are more personally rewarding than any form of entertainment.

I believe this is actually veneered wood, but I enjoy the glossy shine & bright colours. Taking these elements & making them huge, fun shapes with burst of colours is playful & aesthetically pleasing to me. Kind of a mix of pop art, Panton influence, & materials vernacular to contemporary culture.

It genuinely is not helpful! Our trained brains work better without its disruption and slop-filled noise.

As someone working professional in design, with friends who work professional in design/art, this could not be further from the reality of how this new softwares are being used in my experience. The professional design community has largely rejected them — they’re a symbol of hacks.

Deleted my anti-AI vent because it’s not the vibe I want for this account, but in summary I am just very exhausted by tech companies trying to convince us they are going to transform art/design in any substantial way that is positive for art, and see failure after failure in these attempts.
rockhardhudson.bsky.social
So many companies are being extremely shady with stealing data from corporations to train these models rn. Figma robbed every single professional licence holder of their data by making AI opt-out, and conveniently not being able to delete your data once they scooped it up for training.
rockhardhudson.bsky.social
There’s certainly practical applications for a lot of what is being sold as “AI” rn, but the big picture being sold of completely transforming our workflows and having a creative robot partner working alongside us is just hogwash

I’ve still managed to eke out an oasis for myself — they do exist downtown. It’s so important for me to have that time to myself when the day is so busy, I notice such a big difference in my resilience and mental peace from it.

I swear I posted this before?? I can’t find it now.

“A padding trap isn’t so bad… unless you’re under Patch’s Diaper Doom hex. Then things get out of paw, quickly. For there can only be natural 1s, and only a grand disaster!”

Tiny Tails was ahead of its time, in retrospect. We weren’t ready for “more is more” diapers.

Super Pixels may be the first horror vacui diaper design. Unironically kind of Po-mo. feels very new and different.
