✨ Five-year plan: outlive the fascists
Update from Idaho. A friend just texted me a pic of this potato along with the following: Why is it saying, “It’s going to be OK”?

I’m not so sure it is, but I needed this message today, and you probably do, too. ❤️‍🩹🥔

Today is the first day this once-feral, skittish kitty has curled up next to me on the couch since I brought her home in February. Looks like I have a new writing buddy. 🥹

One of my relatives is in his 60s and lives in Port Charlotte, Florida. He attended his first protest today, and I am prouder than words can express.

This girl decided the same yesterday, after two months of resisting. I can’t help but think they know we need the comfort.

Out of one side of their mouths, dems in office will quote Dr. MLK Jr. when it suits them or praise the late John Lewis for his “good trouble,” but out the other side will censure @algreen.house.gov. Shameful.

My friend @kelseycombe.bsky.social gets it right: “Democracy dies in decorum.”

I couldn’t attend today’s protest due to a critical work meeting, but here’s a pic of our new (literary!) kitty for penance. 🐱📚

Extremely alarming. There have been more human cases; the CDC posted (and then immediately deleted, following Trump’s orders) an update on Wednesday about spread between cats and humans. If you don’t already follow @covid19disease.bsky.social, I recommend doing so; they’ve been on top of things.
