I really like Bookshop.org for this purpose, and World of Books! (www.worldofbooks.com/pages/about-us)
Bookshop: Buy books online. Support local bookstores.
An online bookstore that financially supports local independent bookstores and gives back to the book community.

Yep. It’s something we’ve been trying to educate consumers about. The greed is astonishing. I’m good friends with one of the owners; I’d be happy to put you in touch if you want an honest/no-nonsense/no-pressure perspective from a friend of a friend.

I work for a couple of solar companies and this is a common frustration in Idaho. The state shifted from net metering to a net billing system at the end of 2023, which reduced solar energy credits for people with solar systems. If you don’t have a battery, that may be a smart way to go.

I’m sorry this happened. A few years ago, I posted something innocuous/funny that I overheard in my local community and someone I once respected did this. It was so upsetting that I pretty much stopped posting. Sometimes people are too eager to be witty/cruel, when what they ought to be is kind.

I’ve been struggling with this, too. I appreciate people’s willingness to amplify a good message, but I also believe everyone has something valuable to add to the conversation (beyond shares).
