I’m still mad at the overreach that lead to the TT shutdown & concerned about what the app is turning into now. But I’m also grateful the situation lead me to XHS. I hope they don’t try to take it too. & if they do I hope people realize it’s about control & not protection just like it was with TT.

I hear he ripped the characters from Tanith Lee who was more overt in her representation so maybe checking out her work would be healing.

People saying that ish are in denial and need to snap the F out of it. Fac*sm was already here pre-47. And now they’re going full throttle with few guardrails. We’re cooked if people keep thinking things aren’t possible that are already in progress.

Yeah I understand people going back to celebrate but hopefully they’ll balance between them rather than leave entirely (the second being exactly what our government would love to happen). I’m definitely staying too. I was on XHS more than TT from Day 1 on there & probably will continue to be

I meant to reply that one to the person who said they don’t want hate. Understandable. It is feeling like a new home for me. TT feels like still living with my abuser while I wait to make sure I’m set up elsewhere so I’m not sure how long I’ll be there.

Always has been. We were getting facism even if he hadn’t won. The only consolation is that at least this version people see it more readily.

Consider Xiaohongshu. People are so nice. The platform is predominantly women and is strict on bullies. I have only seen like 2 toxic comments in a week on there both obviously American trolls. And with TT back hopefully they’ll be leaving XHS alone.

Niche communities exist in person too. I’m not great at finding them & forcing myself outside as much as we should but think we should even with TT returning. What stuff are you into? I sometimes go to classes from Springboard for the Arts. Actually need to check on this year’s offerings.

2/I am glad I’ll be able to back up my work on other accounts & continue some degree of connection & of course happy for those who won’t lose income, but I’m so wary of this I can’t anticipate using it much. I hope many people still stay on XHS but I even found out TT was back because someone asked

It is exactly what I anticipated would happen with an abuser incoming. He looks like the big hero and people forget he was the one who took it away in the first damn place. I lived this pattern growing up & in marriage & fuck do I not want it from my government. I’m grateful to the degree that /1

Actually just woke up (didn’t get to bed til like 6a) to a door knocker for someone. I don’t have the energy for that kind of thing but I definitely think we need third party options. With local we might actually be able to make it happen because we have ranked choice & we need that federally too.

Yeah I had side accounts I wanted to back up and connect with people on but alas. 🤞🏼 we’ll get that chance. The app as it was is done for though so I go back and forth that maybe it’s better a clean break. If you’re on 📕 it’s been a balm to me.

Oh it was glitchy for me about 7:45p so I was surprised it worked again after that as long as it did. I’d hoped too, though knew that’d have only been 10:59 my time.

I didn’t get to draft dump my side accounts so if we get it back I’d like to save them. But even if we do, it won’t be what it was. And it may be something far worse. So I don’t think I’ll stay on it long in any case. Perhaps a clean cutoff is better? It’s hard to say. I’m glad for the time we had.

I used to have an audience because dogs and cats can be like this, but in a cuter way. Would never want a kid following me though.
