OpenAI’s Codex is great but they need to ship features faster. Multi repo context support and live editing for instance. However I suspect it’s not a priority for them because “AGI” 😔

Am listening to Sam Harris on the ProfG pod and he’s so delusional about things it literally hurts. I think @profgalloway.com is not pushing him enough to elaborate on his answers and views. So many things he’s implying by his answers are making me question his exposure to different cultures.

How we got an American Pope
May 8, 2025 at 11:26 PM
I love how a new pope was announced and immediately everyone started waiting for Trump to take credit.

Well, that was fast. Thanks Apple. #apple

If you work at Spotify you should get a bonus out of this new Apple ruling.

I wonder what terrorist groups are thinking right now. Everyone in the government is preoccupied with their employment and trying to get to normalcy instead of doing their work to keep America safe and ahead. We are likely very vulnerable right now.
Even worse incompetence: they accidentally fired, then apparently today un-fired, hundreds of the people who manage America's nuclear weapons.

Right now you don’t care because you think this couldn’t be you. But think about it what prevents them from just taking you? They don’t care about breaking laws.
We only know this man is in Gitmo because Noem tweeted a propaganda photo that included him and his sister saw it. He has no criminal record. He entered the US in January and immediately made an appointment with CBP to claim asylum. They sent him to a concentration camp bc of his basketball tattoo.

Luis Alberto Castillo arrived in the United States so that he could “give everything to his son,” said his sister. Then, while scrolling on TikTok, she found out he was headed to Guantánamo.

They know this. And it’s what they want. They feel like any programs that holds companies accountable is overreach.
The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse.

Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

Institutions are not here to make money or profit or even be efficient. They’re here to create an environment that improves everyone’s quality of life and protect our interests as a primary goal.
The idea that government should run like a business is literally the dumbest thing i ever heard.
A private citizen with so much conflict of interest, foreign ties and a questionable mental state is essentially given the green light to do as he pleases. And literally no one, from the NSA, FBI, CIA, Congress can do anything about it. What a coup.

USAID, one of the Americas key foreign policy lever and tool, is essentially gone. Just like that.

What makes the US unique and powerful (i.e. its institutions and rule of law) is being ripped out from within and no one can do anything about it. Adversaries can just sit back and watch US institutions crumble.

Idk about you guys, but I really thought US Senators were powerful. Turns out they’re not if no one can enforce 🤷🏾‍♂️.

People really forgot how chaotic and inhumane Trump was.
“Despite possessing Certificates of Indian Blood (CIBs) and state-issued IDs, several individuals have been detained or questioned by ICE agents who do not recognize these documents as valid proof of citizenship,” the Navajo Nation Council stated in a press release.

Sometimes it feels like in America we don’t value the importance of institutions. American institutions are not perfect but there’s no doubt that they try their best to serve the people.
