Bad stories spend their whole time trying to shock and surprise you.

Good stories build connections and anticipation, grounding you in moments and characters and building momentum for the huge scenes. That "predictability" is the sign that they are good.

Yeah, that wasnt an option for me because tech's advanced and people want those of us who werent alive to skip straight to knowing all the modern stuff and telling you that you don't need to learn the foundation. that is my complaint here. Sorry you don't understand the passage of time works ig

straight up not true. windows is a system that people will have more often been shown in their life and *comes preinstalled* I had to smother windows in its sleep (and it fought me on that) so I could switch. Linux's whole point is you can make it exactly how you want. That is the opposite of newbie

Part of my point was that I should not have needed to have taken a class to have that base knowledge to begin with. But sence you brought up generations first, my gen often gets told to "figure it out" while being activly deprived of the means to do that.

If I had not already known how a command line worked (which I learned in a class) I would have exploded in frustration. The context is pointing out people forget you are not born knowing the basics of their fields and so its harder for you to learn them cause the resources are not there.

Your counter to my statement of "this thing is not as easy to start with as some people claim if you have zero context for how anything about it works" includes a laundry list of context that you were able to get.

The reason people react aggressively to AI use isn’t bcuz we aren’t capable of having nuanced convos. It’s because you using AI is an act of aggression. There is no both sides here. You are stealing, funding billionaires who lobby against the greater good, and enable labor theft. Hope this helps.
