What a time to be alive. I'm 78. I hope to live long enough to see how this turns out. And to contribute in some measure to reviving decency and saving democracy in my country of birth.
Adam Smith is really good. I hope we hear more from him in the weeks and months ahead. And another excellent interview by Lawrence, one the very best in the business.

First time I've seen that Doyle guy. It's pretty funny watching such weirdo normies overtaking MAGA. That's gotta be a sign of a movement's decline, when hopeless dweebs like Doyle are on the rise.

All integral examples of Cory Doctorow's 'internet enshitification,' which he analyzes and explains so well.

Disgusting indeed. And I was struck by the hyper-vigilance of his security crew. Man is he ever scared of being attacked–even in his own gaudy surroundings! Also, that sure wasn't what I'd call warm or enthusiastic applause. He's going down. Just hope not too much more damage is done on his way out.

And despite this shit show being on primetime for 10 years now, it still enrages and sickens me every time I see him abuse a reporter like this. Especially, as he is most prone to, when it’s a female reporter. God how I wish they’d all drop their mics and leave him standing there when he does this.

Wikipedia just might be the best resource on the internet. I've donated annually for years.

Good article, good work. I believe a concerted, multi-pronged, creative, coordinated effort to open the hearts and wallets of the very wealthy could prove effective. Just one angle, for example, is making the case that your own life, Mr. Billionaire, would be greatly enriched by sharing your wealth.

"...feeling the hand of God tilt my head...." Claiming to feel 'God' or anything else in a split-second unconscious action is hilarious.

Or in other words, genuine wealth. Not the pretend kind judged by the number of zeros after a dollar sign.

Couldn't it be a bunch of different people and operations? But if it is centralized, you-know-who has to be a suspect. As some have said, maybe this scandal should be more accurately be labeled the Trump Files. And he did have those modeling agencies.

Godalmighty, what a depressing thought, and it seems all too plausible. It had not crossed my mind till now.

Two other possibilities: Senate Republicans promised him they won't vote to release; Bondi is set to deny the release due to 'pending investigation.'

Such a great response by Michelle. Spot on, and so tragic. Heartbreaking to imagine how different the country and world would be if either of these two incredibly well-qualified women had defeated Trump. Hurts to think about it.

You know, that might just be more than a clever jest. Well done.

An integral part of the business. And yes, the girls were shiny objects in the literal sense–which is why they were so central to these powerful men’s dealings–but let us not regard the reality of what happened to them as in anyway less important than the money laundering and other criminal acts.

Josh Marshall wrote an excellent essay recently that recommends eliminating the filibuster altogether, among other things needed to restore and strengthen our democracy. His argument is compelling, IMO:

Wow, how nice to know that Trump is helping people come to the USA to get good medical care. Great to see!

Went to school with a guy named Ted Hole. His father's name, I kid you not, was Harry. How the hell can parents do that to their own child?

Just-in WaPo headline:

Venezuela placed on high alert with massive mobilization of soldiers and militia, defense minister says

Wondering if this might be related to the House vote on the Epstein files tomorrow? Crazy thought, yes, but crazy times.

Survived, yes, but I'd be putting my money on Mills to pull it out. In addition to Platner's little Nazi problem, Janet has a lot of cache. At least that's it what it looks like from where I sit, on the other side of the country.

Wouldn't be oh-so-grand to see the Texas-led gerrymandering campaign blow up in their faces? Could happen.
November 12, 2025 at 1:35 AM
Hard to predict, but I agree, it's hard to see how team Trump doesn't have something in store that prevents or at least greatly mitigates the effect of whatever is released. Going to be an interesting few days starting tomorrow! Fingers crossed.

Hello Cheryl. Don't know what post your are applauding here, but I want to use this space to thank you for your excellent video posted on FB by Sean Christopher Gayle. Couldn't agree more! You've got a new follower. :) And hey, I was born in Oakland! Almost 79 years ago. 🥸
