Oct. 6, 1955: Toe Blake made his coaching debut as Canadiens beat Toronto Maple Leafs 2-0 at Forum with Jacques Plante earning shutout. Habs won Stanley Cup in each of Blake's first five seasons behind bench. He won eight Cups in 13 seasons as coach.
