I said I'd post what I got in my St. Louis Art Supply mystery box. I think I got a lot luckier than my daughter, who was disappointed in hers. Anyway, here it is:
Contents of my latest St Louis Art Supply Mystery Box. Got some nice stuff here! A very nice wood and brass ball-point pen. A nice spiral bound notebook. Some Hannemuhle watercolor paper in a little pad and some watercolor paper cards. Tiny colored pencils. A Japanese bamboo pen. A kneaded eraser and a drawing pencil. Six skeins of DMC embroidery floss in a little storage container. An S-hook. And the green object is meant to help scrape off price stickers and such, saving your fingernails.

I can't remember exactly how much my upside down cat was...I think around $50 too...but to me he's priceless.

I loves me some Pogo...
Pogo the possum and Albert the alligator are talking about a tiny pup dog. Pogo says he must have been thrown in a bag by someone trying to get rid of him and asks what his name is. Pup dog says "Wurf." Albert laughs at this and asks why he didn't say "Ralph" like most dogs. Pogo defends the pup dog saying he's just a baby, while Albert blows cigar smoke in Pup's face, while asking "Do you know any other words? In the last panel, Pup is saying "Wurf wurf?" and biting Albert's nose. Pogo says, "Good! You knows two words..."wurf" and "wurf-wurf!"

Charlie has such a stressful life.

Hustled to Trader Joe’s today as I was dying to try the Horseradish and Dill potato chips. And managed to snag one of the Mystery Bags bags. I got Texas, Minnesota, and, my fave, one praising George Washington Carver, with cookie recipe on the bottom of the bag.

On one of the sides it says “Did you bring the hot pot?” The last bag commemorates George Washington Carver and has a recipe for peanut butter cookies on the bottom.

For my birthday, my daughter gave me the set of White Nights paints so I played with them last night. This morning I thought the splooshes looked like clouds a dragon might play in. So…
A page where puddles of granulating watercolors have dried in shades of purples, blues, greys, and pinks. Odd little dragons play among the clouds, painted in the CYS pink metallic watercolors, also gifted to me by my daughter.

Morning, Womble! I’m about halfway through Peter May’s The Black Loch, his newest Lewis mystery. I’ve read at least one of the previous ones, but a long time ago, so the events from the past mentioned here just ring very faint bells.

Good morning! I’m reading two at once. The House at Devil’s Neck by Tom Mead - a very Sherlockian locked-room mystery…a little dry.
