FWIW, our big ABDL chat basically does this. We have some heated political discussions in there sometimes ("no politics" is a cowardly rule to put in place in a general chat), but we actually treat nonstarters as nonstarters.
Being a Republican in 2026 is sufficient grounds to be banned from furry chats and events and I’m tired of pretending otherwise.
