I got the latest iOS update and there is literally NOTHING about it that I like. Every new feature makes it worse than it was before. The UI now displays less information in the same space. It takes more taps than before to do some things. Endless popups explaining new things. I hate it so so much.

Well… we got a raccoon in the roof of our enclosed porch. It peed enough that it would run down the wall and drip from the ceiling. They do move around from place to place but it seemed to really like our place. We patched the hole and now there’s evidence that it’s trying to dig its way back in.

I’ve never been disappointed by a national park. I expected Yellowstone to be spectacular and it is. When i finally visited the Everglades, it exceeded my expectations 😁

That is simply not true. Which Democratic candidate ran on “identity politics, free trade, and open borders”? (Quote from the opening bit of that piece) it wasn’t Harris whose policies were basically Biden’s and focused on making life better for working people.

I moved from SLC to Rock Island IL. Utah can get those strong downslope winds but in illinois the wind is almost constant. A sharp biting wind that sucks the warmth right out of you. If not for the wind, I’d say Utah and Illinois winters are similar but with Illinois wind, it’s worse.

I stopped listening to a podcast that i enjoyed when the host said he didn’t like Darmok. I couldn’t even stand his voice after that.

I’m totally with you on sound quality. But i do love the ritual of playing an LP. Seeing the sleeve art, pulling out the disc, giving it a quick clean. That little thump when the needle drops. Settling into my listening chair. The spinning disc and grooves mesmerize me.
