The new ICE song by Jesse Welles nails it.

ICE isn’t recruiting heroes, it’s recruiting the bitter, the rejected, the ones desperate for a badge to cover their failures.

Losers with power become the most dangerous kind.

Pope Francis chose that name after Saint Francis of Assisi, the barefoot radical who gave up his wealth to live among lepers, animals, & the poor. A man who didn’t see nature as a resource, but as “a mirror of God.” In a world where profit trumps life, that name was a provocation.

Heartfelt thanks to my dear colleagues in the BioSocieties editorial collective for this incredibly generous ´tribute’ as I step down from my editorial role after 20 years. I’ll continue to support this terrific journal from the sidelines. biosocieties.org/our-thanks-t...

The FT View: This was no 'liberation day' for America. If Trump gets his way, the US economy will be isolated from the very system that has powered its century-long rise, writes our editorial board. www.ft.com/content/2145...

Ahead of Trump’s “tariff day” April 2, let me reiterate a basic fact.

Value added tax systems do not distort trade.

European consumers pay VAT
US consumers pay sales taxes

End of story

A 🧵to make this painfully obvious if the above is not clear 1/

Nauseating, tragic and terrifying to witness the descent of America to ally with a corrupt murderous Mafia terrorist state. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie."

My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false
