And remind the company that your building contract, which does date to those prehistoric times of 2010 does include service for life (at no extra charge to residents). There was a little "It can't" and then they read it and go "Oh yes it does. Sorry, we'll be right out."

Apparently staying in the same place forever (I'm told by IT guy that living in same place for 15 years is forever) leads to old tech malingering on. Good reminder to do a check every now and then.

I was finally driven to hardcore whining at the Internet provider (who I like very much as they are small, local, and generally listen) by Flights of Foundry and Epic Realms. Both video conference calls froze (very annoying). Turns out I was operating on a serious out-of-date system.

That moment when you explain to the Internet guy that your box was installed by his company 15 years ago. And then you realize he was probably 10 at the time. "This is seriously out of date," he says and I nod. Anyway, I'm upgraded and can do amazing things online...or like Zoom without freezing.
