A hard day for those who care about justice. Sharing these words from Rev. William Barber II, who’s long been a moral voice for the poor.

“The passage of this bill is deadly, but it is not a defeat. We must meet it with a resurrection.”

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Wisconsin, you know what to do.
If you need one more reason to support Rebecca Cooke to oust Derrick Van Orden ( #WI03), this is it.

I grew up in TX & FL my family had to have SNAP & Medicaid at times.

At one point we lived in subsidized housing while my grandmother worked two jobs.

Helping our communities live in a safe house & be able to eat regularly is not only about human compassion, it benefits everyone in the local area.
I grew up in rural South Carolina with a single mom who worked multiple jobs. At times, we relied on Medicaid and SNAP—like so many others. My heart breaks for those now wondering if that help will still be there.

Imagine having all that power and choosing to make people’s lives worse.

Shameful.

“ICE’s annual budget for detentions would skyrocket from $3.4 billion in the present fiscal year to $45 billion until the end of the 2029 fiscal year—a 365 percent increase, and a figure that outstrips the combined funding of all fifty federal prisons” www.thenation.com/article/soci...

We should all call our Reps and ask they vote “no” unless a deal is made for our state - worked for Murkowski. If every state requires a deal for a yes vote - education and healthcare remain the same - then there are a no BBB.
