If you only hit credits, go back to the room again.

I brute forced two of them.

Yeah I started off scoffing at the suggestion of a notebook, but then got onto one of the puzzles that absolutely requires some sort of notetaking. Ended up with about 10 sheets of notes by the time I was done with the game and a multitude of screenshots.

There are clues in other rooms that help you with figuring out the rules out. But it wasn’t really my cup of tea either.

If you have the time to play together, and a screen you can see together, that may be the best option. It’s fun to bounce wild theories and suggestions off each other. Doesn’t really matter who’s in control.

I think it depends on the type of player. It seems that those who get their primary enjoyment from achieving well defined goals or “winning” are easily frustrated by the RNG and opaque puzzles. Those whose enjoyment is derived from exploration and diving into deep mysteries quickly get sucked in.

“They were just premature” is the line that gets me. No ability to admit that they were the ones who couldn’t see what was right in front of their faces.

I ended up taking the Jack of all trades flaw again on my second play through. One of these days I’ll have to try a run without it.

The apartment management put a post it note next to our gate access the other day. Since the post it note was blue, I chose to believe it.

Deathclaws were genetic hybrids created by the army.

I like both the games, but 1, while spoofing capitalism, leans toward blaming corrupt leaders and not the system. But if you do want to go on a killing spree in the affluent capital (reminiscent of the Capital in the hunger games), it will let you. 2’s theme seems to be that everyone sucks.

There are plenty of unlockables that help mitigate the RNG. But also, the more experience you get with the mechanics, the more strategic you will get. I equate it to poker, the more skill you develop, the less luck matters. (And yes, there is way more left to discover than you would expect)

I did enjoy the boiler room puzzle, but generally the self contained puzzles were not the part that grabbed me. At first I didn’t think I cared that much about the lore, but eventually the story pulled me in and finding more details about the world was rewarding in and of itself.

I concur. This was the first time I looked up a solution for Blue Prince and did not regret it at all once I saw the solutions.

Outer Worlds 2 dives into this phenomenon, albeit taken to comical extremes. Cult like devotion to their factions because there aren’t really any good options out there and they aren’t capable of imagining a better way.

The thing about embracing a brutal regime is everyone thinks they’re gonna be the guy with the spear. No one thinks they’re gonna be the one hanging on a cross.

I don’t think I really need to hear the “good” side of slavery. Some things are just disqualifying, even in an apocalypse.

It’s not a successful run unless I hear Boone say “Whatever happens from here on out, we killed that prick in the middle of his fortress. Ought to give the rest of them something to think about.”

Yeah, credit role is early game for Blue Prince. Playing Outer Wilds now but have no idea how far along I am. Had a few a-ha moments and a few jump scares.

It’s hilarious to me that I have no idea if your final puzzle is the same as my final puzzle.

I’m all about New Vegas and I really am enjoying the series. I was on the fence around episodes 2 & 3 but then it really picks up afterward.
