People who like #comics, maybe just #indiecomics, but definitely people who like #kickstarter comics. I made a feed for you! bsky.app/profile/ross...

I'm still ironing out the kinks, and it might end up costing too much to make it worthwhile, but please use it and buy more comics!
The Climber is a strange manga. I'm enjoying it, probably helped by the uniqueness of its setting, but we're observing some deeply unlikeable characters.

Finished it last night, and if you got vouchers for Christmas I recommend this book. I knew next to nothing about the subject beforehand and I've come away with a whole new appreciation for it. Fascinating stuff!
Thanks to a recommendation by @bourgwick.bsky.social, I've been reading Jelly Roll Blues by @elijahwald.bsky.social. Entertaining and enlightening, and very often needs to be tilted away from other passengers in case they glance at the large font on my ereader.

I didn't realise there were four sequels before a 2025 remake. Brian Yuzna even directed one. Do I feel like being a completist?
I'd forgotten what an absolute belter Silent Night, Deadly Night. Great film to watch with pals in a pub.

I have limited TV time, and plenty of things on the watch list. Should I put The War Between The Land and Sea before or after the next Classic Who boxed set on the list?

Always nice to get notifications that an artist I added on @musicbrainz.org for @getyourgenki.bsky.social is getting new info added by other people.

Thanks to Consolevania, I'll always hear Blue Stinger's Dogs Bauser yelling "A woman?!" when reading nonsense like this.

I think this is mainly for @giornatanera.bsky.social and @richwhmk2.bsky.social
I need to share this with someone

My parents no longer have a record player, and have kept only a handful of records for nostalgic reasons. You've got to hold onto the classics.

In my mid-thirties I gave up alcohol. In my mid-forties I think it's going to have to be salty foods, especially after 8pm. On the road to water and gruel to keep me going.

I'm pretty sure this is going to put Hard Bouled into the lead for films I've bought on multiple formats. Pretty sure this makes it VHS, VCD, DVD, and now 4k.

I think Subway should have stopped at "Festive Menu" rather than "Ultimate Festive Menu".

Sunshine.
What would be the funniest movie scene for Smashmouth's All-Star to be swapped in for the real soundtrack

Disney+ has started having sync issues, I think. A couple of times a minute it seems to skip a few frames as if to catch up. Is this some kind of obsolete TV bullshit? It's streaming over a Google TV which I hoped would mean we'd avoid that.

Heathrow Terminal 5's announcement system wishing me a merry Christmas every five minutes has the same teeth grinding effect as Scotrail continually apologising for any inconvenience this may cause.

I know, I'm old, but I really don't need constant, slow motion, hi-def, blindingly bright video ads for food while blearily nursing a coffee before a flight.

Yeeeess! I've wanted a remaster of this for a long time, and now that I have zero time for watching films I can't wait to occasionally look at the spine on the shelf and think "One day, when I retire..."
Suffering for art: truly honoured to have contributed a booklet essay to this Limited Edition of Pupi Avati's THE HOUSE WITH LAUGHING WINDOWS (1976), available in the US from today on 4K UHD or Blu-ray via Arrow Video. My old review: projectedfigures.com/2024/01/22/t...

@terrymooreart.bsky.social Keep posting the beautiful art, but for those who like comics and kickstarters, there's a way around the algorithm. I made a feed: bsky.app/profile/ross.... Like it, pin it, it'll show you posts that have links to comics on kickstarter.

I'm sure pubs are struggling, but I got charged £5.90 for two pints of soda and lime this evening, so I'm not feeling all that sympathetic.

Getting tempted to try and make the wee one watch Mysterious Cities of Gold. Can't take any more "trio of friends learning lessons" shows.
