Mallow is great with other cats, and has taken a liking to a blind kitten in his foster home 🥹 He's just a total sweetheart, and has not minded any other animals or new humans coming into the home. All around a perfect kitty 💕 now he just needs a lap of his own!

Mallow had NO complications during surgery to remove his absolutely smashed hind limb, and has healed extremely well. 🥳 FIV has not hindered him at all, and his foster mom reports that he is the sweetest gentleman. Since he is super chill with everyone he meets, he often gets called 'Mellow Mallow'.

Mallow is a 6 year old neutered male who was saved from euthanasia at a local animal shelter, where he arrived with an extremely broken leg that had bone exposed 😭💔 He is now living life, happy and healthy as a tripod! He happens to also be FIV+.

10 years ago today, @xagave.bsky.social and i had our first movie date over skype call. We had originally discovered each other while drawing homestuck fanart on tumblr 😂 A lot has changed, but tbh, a lot has stayed the same too. 💙💚

its an uncommon condition, and is fairly new to being researched in cats. A recent study found that in 10 cats studied, 2 spontaneously stopped having episodes. All 10 cats owners said their cats did not suffer a decline in quality of life with the condition! So she is not in any pain during them 🥹💖

She is awake and aware for all of it- just not in control. There is no postictal state, and she immediately asks for her bottle loudly upon the fit stopping. It is a bit like a tick that lasts for longer than usual.

Both vets agree, the diagnosis of Paroxysmal Dyskinesias (PxD) fits.

Her fits are 30s-3mins long, and can be anything from mild repetitive ear flicks on one side, to more intense muscle spasms where she repetitively and uncontrollably tenses and relaxes limbs, or curls in on herself.

MooDeng weighed in at 295g today, and saw a vet for her seizure-like episodes. Always funny when one vet does not understand a name reference, but everyone else in the clinic does 😂 Dr. Salvati was a good sport about it though, said she'd google it later!

That being said, the two little girls are doing fantastic.

Our little cow is doing well, and pooping regularly now! She has taken a liking to sleeping wrapped in blankets on the heating pad. She's very mobile for a 2wk old stumpy girl. She eats in small bursts, so she gets 2nds and 3rds 😆

I'm so sad his time was short, but glad we at least made it comfortable. Fully belly, warm bed, many kisses 😔 He did not suffer like he would have without help.
This is the hardest part of neonate kitten fostering- sometimes, you can do everything right, and they still pass. 💔

I wish i had better news, but this lil guy passed really unexpectedly earlier this week 💔 He ate like normal, went to sleep like normal, and when Xylo checked on him 2.5h later, he was gone 😭 There were no signs of aspiration or regurgitation- just gone.

I don't have many good pics of her because she's so wiggly, but we have just been calling this little girl 'The Cow' 😂 She's extra round and squatty, but has been having some gut trouble. We've finally got her pooping as often as she should, but she really struggled with it for a while.

MooDeng is the bigger of the girls. She's 220g, chonky, a pinkish gray, and gives a lot of sassy whale eye looks 😆 She has had some episodes of involuntary muscle movements, where she is totally conscious and aware, so we suspect she has paroxysmal dyskinesia (PxD).

If you've seen my instagram stories, you've seen this one already but. He also has 2 sisters here with him. They're 3 of a litter of 8! But, strugglebus tinies is what Xylo and I do best 😅 so the sisters are also with us for now, which honestly helps keep our lil cleft guy happy too.

We've not given him a name yet - every kitten rescuer knows why 😆 but he will be 2 weeks old on Tuesday! He's starting to walk a little, and now yells for his meals every 3 hours.
