See, now, I read that as “I rarely regret doing things which are this hard” but now I’ve clicked on the link I see that was not your intended meaning.

Probably they sort out internal account-to-account (aka “on us”) transfers overnight in a mainframe batch job, whereas inter-bank payments go through e.g. Faster Payments where the regulator puts limits on times? And/or the FPS route was just built more recently (ie not decades ago).

“but never with consideration of the after” - are you sure? Feels like overly strong wording to me. I’m not suggesting unintended consequences don’t happen, but I would bet lots of regulation decisions are taken carefully, with lots of deliberation of “the after”.

Anyway, tell us when you figure it out! 😅

To clarify: if you saved it as utf8 but then it rendered some other encoding, resulting in nonsense Unicode points, you’d get ?s in black diamonds. But here the Unicode points make sense, but the glyph to render it is missing in all the fonts it’s trying.

Could it be some corrupted web font issue or something? I *think* somehow the email client’s text renderer is deciding there’s no available glyph for basically all characters, including no fallback. (I.e. I think this is different to the ?s in black diamonds you get when the encoding is mangled)

I spotted you in the distance, as we got up to take Aidan home for his nap. Hope you enjoyed it!

(And he really, really likes It Takes A Village, so I guess we recommend that one if you’ve not tried it yet)

Oh and FYI there is also a big… horizontal disc type swing in Lloyd park. Aidan likes a go on that (lying flat), which can be a bit logistically simpler than the sitting-up swings.

I don’t think we’ve actually done the St Mary’s play area, so maybe that’s one to try as well. Thanks!

Yes, both of those are good, thanks! (I say, not having personally attended either). We’re currently thinking of going and looking at some dogs at Big Penny Social tomorrow, for a bit of variety :)

@mangmangmang.bsky.social have you had any big successes lately?

I think it’s like airports: most of the time it’s way more time than you need, but _sometimes_ everything is taking ages and they need you there early. That said, I think o’be mostly arrived after the advised time in the past and it’s been fine.
