I mean used games dramatically changed the industry forever. I'm not sure there's any way of understating the effect it had on development costs and content. Subscription is clearly hurting sales on Xbox and changing player behavior. Piracy near impossible to really determine, also had effects.

This is the most BASIC requirement of a game reviewer. The ability to push off predisposition to certain things and evaluate a game on its merits. Its very sad that we have some many amateurs now who simply can’t do that.

As a judge for @DevGAMM I’m playing lots of games that aren’t my cup of tea. I can’t judge them on that, I judge them on the craft in the area they’re aiming at.

As a publisher I had to evaluate games from across the spectrum, many of which weren’t my cup of tea. But that was OK, if the quality was there and there was a market for it then signing it made sense. I couldn’t work on JUST game I liked. That would be crazy.

They have a very healthy cashflow, so cut a load of less profitable stuff and the staff that go with it and ..
