I'm also fanatical about calling students what they wanna be called/pronouncing their names right (to the best of my ability or w/ normal anglicizing). I've been getting John'd my whole life (mostly by people who have no reason to know better, but). I much prefer being called by my actual name!

I actually use that as sort of a bellwether for what to think about any person or organization I have to submit personal info to. If an organization actually calls me Carter in communications after I put that as my preferred name, I'm much more likely to give them the time of day!

I adore Brennan in every way but like four episodes into C4 I leaned over to my wife and said "I desperately need him to be a little less intense with this right now. Please. Just give me a goofy lil NPC or something. I crave silliness." (thankfully it's been better the past couple eps)
