Just another transmasc local area cryptid. Sightings reported at bookstores and coffee shops in Maryland.

Here mostly to talk about books, especially fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and MM romance.

After months of waiting, I finally got all of the Captive Prince series from my library. Kings Rising is one of the few books to make me cry. I really love C.S. Pacat’s writing.

Of course, now that I’ve finished these, I’m more impatient than ever for the final book of Dark Rise to come out!

Finally decided to give Morning Glory Milking Farm a shot. Thus far, I’ve found it very wholesome. And surprisingly queer for a book not featuring any queer characters. 1/2

Did I decide to abandon my other books to read all of Rogue Protocol tonight? Yes I did.

Was it worth it? Absolutely

Do I know what to do with myself while I wait *NINETEEN WEEKS* for the next murder or book to be available from the library? No. No, I do not.

My favorite Murderbot story yet.

The Gilda Stories is off to an incredibly strong start. I’m enjoying the take on vampires so far.

Sk8 was the vines I needed tonight. Colorful, queer, and super goofy. Glad I got the chance to introduce a friend to one of my favorite comfort watches.

Everything I read in January. Still working on putting up reviews in StoryGraph.

Also started but not yet finished:
*I’ll Have What He’s Having by Adib Khorram
*One Hundred Years if Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

Had a Barnes and Noble gift card from Christmas + rewards to spend, so I finally went out for some retail therapy.

Most excited to read The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez. Black, sapphic vampire novel, originally published in the 90s, written by a founding member of GLAAD? Yes please 🙌🏻

Did you know that cleaning and organizing bookshelves is a very itchy task when you are allergic to dust?

Also, how on earth do the bedroom shelves get so much dustier than the ones in my office and living room?

Listening to I’ll Have What He’s Having by Adib Khorram while cleaning and organizing my bookshelves.

Very much enjoying the voice actors for this one!

My hold for Artificial condition came in a month earlier than expected and just in time for me to have finished You Had Me at Happy Hour.

Time to find out what the incredibly endearing Murderbot is getting up to now!

Needed some fluff tonight and picked up You Had Me at Happy Hour by Timothy Janovsky. Definitely the break I needed, and I’m enjoying the neurodiversity rep.

12 books that define my taste.

Mostly queer stories. Lots of fantasy and horror with the occasional sci-fi, romantic fluff, or cozy mystery thrown in.

Right as the shutter clicks, Pretzel decides some adjustments are needed.

So This is Ever After by F.T. Lukens.

Cozy, queer fantasy about what happens after you’ve completed the prophecy. Perfect if you love DnD.
