An 18% increase in #healthinsurance prices regardless of the provider, is going to hit South Dakotans hard. Not good news, especially for families already struggling to make ends meet

Great to see our US House candidates unified on generative #AI. Gronli & Jackley have the most closely aligned opinions, very refreshing. Kudos to all the candidates for not using it in their campaigns. #SouthDakota is not really a fan of #AI no matter the party www.dakotanewsnow.com/2025/10/07/c...
Candidates discuss the use of generative AI in the upcoming election
Here in South Dakota, questions are starting to be asked about how AI can and should be used in the upcoming elections.

Love a good forgery story! I wonder what the investigation will reveal - are they fakes or not? Gotta say, it seems suspicious www.nytimes.com/2025/10/02/a...

Great oped on #coal from IEEFA. It's dirty, expensive, declining in use, and the administration is backing its play. Coal fired power generation is a relic of the past & #taxpayers need to say enough already www.nytimes.com/2025/10/07/o...

One company's data centers will consume as power as NYC & San Diego COMBINED. This is bad for our communities in so many ways. That kind of demand will raise our rates & strain the grid. Will you have power when you need it? #datacenters #rural #ratepayers

Expansion of AI data centers is bad news for our planet and for everyone who lives on it.

OpenAI’s planned data centers will use more power than New York City & San Diego use at their peak consumption, combined. More power than the entire nations of Switzerland & Portugal combined. And San Altman’s buddies in this administration have been cutting all of our energy infrastructure upgrades

How about the opening of Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns & Roses? Is it technically a riff if it’s the opener??

I do have questions about the last couple of paragraphs where you explain the increases if the subsidies expire (which they are set to do). In one you use a percentage & the other you use dollars. Not sure if that’s the premium or the income.

Many Americans worry about the rising authoritarianism among MAGA Republicans, @adriennelaf.bsky.social argued in 2024. They should also pay attention to another ascendent force for illiberalism: the immensely powerful kings of tech.
The Rise of Techno-authoritarianism
Silicon Valley has its own ascendant political ideology. It’s past time we call it what it is.
