Also, become a little more politically astute. As governor, Newsom represents all of Cali, & right now, in our very blue state, there is no public support for this measure. It's not just about votes, it's about what the people want.

Instead of being so biased & bitter, do some research. This policy isn't currently supported by parents or teachers, not only because parents feel it's their job, but teachers also feel they aren't up to the task under present conditions. Life is never just either/or.

Maligned again because, like others who stand with the LGBTQ community, I'm not all in on children K-12 being taught that gender isn't determined by the sex organs a person is born with. This is the parent's job, not the teacher's, absent comprehensive changes to school curricula, which cost $$$.

As a researcher by nature & lawyer by profession, I'm tired of people making inaccurate conclusions based on limited info. I support trans community, but can understand why Newsom didn't sign bill which tramples on a parent's right to decide what her child should be taught about sexual identity.

Yes, this 2 party system is contributing to the chaos because neither represents the working class. Consequently, there's a lot of frustration felt by people like you & me. No wonder people don't want to engage. But people are wanting to change.

So TikTok said that my comment asserting that our government is waging war against us is against Community Guidelines. Of course they don’t specify what part of the guidelines it violated. I guess it’s the “you shall not tell the truth about the Trump administration” guideline. 🤷🏻‍♀️

FYI, my family left Nazi Germany after WWII. Politically active my entire life (Vietnam protests, female liberation, abortion rights, etc) & was so optimistic when we made big changes. Never thought, towards end of my life, everything would be undone, altho I knew we were headed for calamity.

I scream into bsky.social daily. I am starting to blog as well. We, esp the young, need to scream loudly for change. There are some very good ideas that are floating around out there, & they need to be pushed into the mainstream. Meanwhile, urge support for those supporting your agenda.

I empathize, but encourage you to think about all the countries in the world that have experienced extreme political upheaval & come thru it for the better. This economic & political system is no longer working for us, the workers. It needs to be reformed & there will be pain. Hang in there.

Everyone isn't going around as if it's bsns as usual. Those I speak to are very concerned about what's happening but, other than boycotting, showing up at protests or voting, are at a loss as to what else to do. This is where the leaders & big thinkers come in, but no one has offered anything else.
