Incredibly resilient, well done on the running, it really is amazing how it can help you feel about your body and what it is capable of. Be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

My dad was forces, was away a lot. I have a box full of 'blueys' the special letter that folded into an envelope that forces families used to write. Every week he would write to me, from Falklsnds, the Gulf etc. The excitement once of getting a phone call was crazy.

We take the piss. For me the financial insecurity, inability to plan, to envisage any kind of future or literally look beyond surviving the day is crippling.

Who currently cant work as my caring responsibilities & my own health arent allowing it the impact on my well being is huge. I can rationally know that I just cant juggle it all but I WANT to work, I love my job. Not working is hard, & then we are bombarded with messages about being scroungers, that
November 8, 2025 at 7:46 AM
Yes its this idea that you are lucky to not work, those who feel that away are assuming you have the liberty to thrn do as you please. When actually you see actually busy/overwhelmed managing your health/disability. And doing so with v limited means, often in pain, dealing with MH etc. As an adult

Have just fitted into our crazy household perfectly. Bobbles is THE most laid back daft cat ever & Misty is the boss. Both love cuddles, are crazy & comfort everybody with their fluffy purring. They are so soothing & the best thing ever.

Waits for all the comments about what a bad cat owner you are because your toddler is mauling the cats as people clearly dont get humour 😂 but exactly this. Ours were 8 weeks old when we got them. My youngest is older but has complex needs. He learnt very quickly how to handle them & the kittens

Our two kittens turn one this month & they absolutely the BEST thing ever for the whole family. Totally agree.

The occuplaytionsl therapist www.facebook.com/share/1DKvuy... did some good stuff on this and adapting it to children. You would have to scroll back, but she detailed her stuff & think posted some links.

Yes! Honestly the political landscape feels very bleak at moment. Dealing with the system as I am feeling like I have another decade of constant battling to help small get an accessible education is scary/exhausting. And I always think what about the families/children who cant advocate.
November 4, 2025 at 12:13 PM
In a world that is so much more overwhelming. Its not surprising more children & adults are struggling with it. Making adaptations for that seems logical to me, why wouldnt you want to?
November 4, 2025 at 12:11 PM
Developed less healthy coping mechanisms but grew up feeling out of place. Also we know so much more about child development so I struggle to understand why we dont want to look at the implications of that on education. Especially when so many are struggling. From sensory perspective we do now live

World we absolutely make adaptations. I stand up, am near side/back so I can move. Have something to fiddle with, chew gum, use weighted blanket. As a child I was fortunate to live abroad, swam every day, was outside & clearly that supported my sensory needs until high school when actually I then

Brilliant! I have only understood my own sensory issues because of my children & my work. I feel what a lot of schools mean with inclusion is more expecting children to suppress themselves tbh. So many times I hear 'well in the real world they wont be allowed/able. When actually as adult in the real

It was very emotional, even at home getting them ready I felt tearful & couldn't read all the labels when I was there or I would have cried. Luckily saw a friend there & the volunteers were lovely. Oddly enough didnt see anyone from County Council Education/SEND. I just hope people listen.

That I dont really like Prince Caspian. We just finished Varjak Paw The Outlaw & looking for a decent series but not sure small will like Narnia pace wise. But if we read them then we can then watch the BBC productions afterwards, which I love.

Are you reading them in publication order or chronological order. I read them in chronological order, though was debating skipping Magicians Nephew to begin with with small. He will get the concept of 'wrong' order because Star Wars.. & I dont likd Magicians Nephew as much. But you have reminded me

Ha yes, we got boy/girl siblings & the boy is the soppiest. Right from tiny he has let us carry him around like a baby. Lays in our arms with belly up all dopey. His sister wont allow that, she has to sit on our shoulder like a parrot. We do joke that she got all the brains though he is so daft.
