My city organizes volunteers to clear snow through a program called Snow Busters. I did it bc it's good to serve neighbors. While trudging through the snow for miles to get to the house, I'd think, the city is coordinating this, why not just do it themselves? they already plow the streets for cars.

(I think the actual numbers might still be off but the US did have at least that many states by 1880.)

No, you were right. In Colorado we are quite proud of being the Centennial state, admitted 100 years after the founding of the US (so 1876) and we were #38.

I happened to grow up near the 15 bus line that went down Colfax Ave in Denver, that took me to a bus stop across the street from my high school in one direction and dropped me off in front of the student union building at my university in the other direction, four years later.
