„Aufklärung ist der Ausgang aus selbstverschuldeter Unmündigkeit“
Probably, but the point is to define that point … I would accept a prolonged overall breakdown of public order, but not much below that threshhold.

Many people seem to think that a so-perceived „weak“ police/policy reaction is justification enough to take law in their own hand. No, it aint!
January 14, 2026 at 5:08 PM
Well, ofc he can try to, but thats what we should call „authoritarian“ or maybe „fascist“ - abolishibg the separation of powers, giving unckecked power to the executive.

It’s definitely outside the concept of a republic, a liberal state or however you call it.
January 14, 2026 at 12:58 PM
Ofc the law is a form of violence, for sure. But the monopoly of violence is handed over to the state, and the state has checks & balances to safeguard this use of violence.

The individual citizens can’t reclaim that right and revoke the separation of powers to again use violence on his own.

Wow conformal fuel tanks- beautifull!
January 14, 2026 at 7:09 AM
A day off with the boys?
January 14, 2026 at 6:45 AM
Well the rule of law hostirically replaces the individual right to use violence … the tendency to consider the rule of law to be only a thin veil that obscures a basic violent truth / reality is a core idea of fascist thinking: power is all, law is weakness.

He is so brain dead …
January 13, 2026 at 6:01 PM
At lest they are stupid and amateurish, thats far better than cold professional efficience.

If you are a socialist, remember Hegel and Marx:

History realise itself through the „cunning of reason“ (Hegel) and „behind the back“ of the actors Marx). Their intentions and moral quality are usually ideology and not important for critical judgement.
January 13, 2026 at 7:39 AM
Well, I understand, but we have to differentiate intentions and outcomes.

In history, ist very common that bad Intentions lead to good outcomes and vice versa.

The individual motive for an action is in the way no usefull measure for it’s effects.
January 13, 2026 at 7:33 AM
Well, imperialist interests of the US (get rid of Mullahs) and legitimate interests of the iranian general populatiln (get rid of Mullahs) just accidently may align.

What do you suggest we do in this case?
January 13, 2026 at 7:12 AM
Close your borders for unvaccinated people. Easy.
January 12, 2026 at 9:21 PM
Viggen I would add!
January 12, 2026 at 9:19 PM

January 12, 2026 at 4:43 PM
Is this new?
January 12, 2026 at 4:19 PM

It’s the economy, stupid!
January 12, 2026 at 11:27 AM
There is something like a certificate of „degree of indian blood“? Really?

Thats a Racing trope, i would think, and i know only of the nazi governemnt in Germany 1933-45 tries to establish blood lines in citizenship papers.

January 11, 2026 at 9:46 PM
Sorry.
January 11, 2026 at 9:43 PM
Its shamefull and I feel this compassion too. You have seen the guy with the mine strapped to his body???

Putin must pay for these crime, too.
January 11, 2026 at 9:39 PM
Anyway, helping the iranian people here may be hypocritical, but may be the right thing to do.

History is tricky. The best developments may be kicked off by bad faith actors, and vice versa.

The moral integrity of a leader is often not as important for history as we think.
January 11, 2026 at 9:32 PM

January 11, 2026 at 8:41 PM

Mouth of Sauron?
January 11, 2026 at 5:51 PM
The Shah regime has been overthrown by a DEMOCRATIC revolution - and a legitimate one - before the ayathollas took it over …

Never allow the Shah back tonloser. No Kings!
