It unexpectedly snowed when I was in New York once and I bought snow boots. They were terrible! On the other hand I bought a fleece in Montreal, probably 15 years ago, and then gave it to Mica and I think he’s still hiking in it to this day.

When you’re traveling make sure you have a phone and a wallet (and whatever IDs you need) and don’t stress too much about forgetting stuff because if you forget something you can probably buy it where you’re going. Not *always* true of course but usually.

I had to check my whole backpack and it didn’t seem worth dealing with a whole nother bag so I just have what’s in my pockets. Everyone dragging all their shit past me to and fro and I just feel so nonchalant and fancy free.
