As if GTA’s ever-changing release dates weren’t enough, the industry can now live in fear of Elder Scrolls appearing out of nowhere.

Same. It's pretty transparent with why it recommends games to you and it's not *that* personal.

But for developers this is a blessing. Steam is vastly more successful at getting users interested in a variety of games than, say, Playstation is.

I enjoy looking back on how far I've progressed. It makes the rest of the journey seem less daunting.

The new Fable looks... It's not ugly but it's just kinda boring and neutral. Especially in terms of lighting and tonemapping this scene needs more *warmth*.

Pre-release footage of course. Fingers crossed.

And during that same year we had Fable II, Prince of Persia and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (which tbh looks quite bland).

Just to give a pick of AAA projects on the same consoles.

Games may have been heavily tonemapped but even among the brown games (which were far from the only options) there were some very different styles.

I think it’s even more useful for stylized games because you can have more definition in the lighting vs using detailed textures. Depends on the style of course. But check out Jusant.

Here's one I did two years ago. Probably in Unity 2023. So much improvement- yet so much left to improve.

I hope I can share my current work soon.

I found my first 3D landscape. I've always loved making these.
This was all the way back in Unity 3.

These are some supposedly real explosions from movies. It seems that once it settles you do mostly see smoke on the outside and fire on the inside.
