The family have contributed certainly. But technically the scriptwriters are mostly responsible!

Lots of children younger than him ask for counselling you know! I think the village and pub should have given him a chance but, honestly, he is never really sorry for his actions. Witnessing him not realising Neil and Susan did the right thing because they love him. He makes his own choices

Do you really think he’s behaving responsibly? It’s exactly how domestic abusers behave I’m afraid. If he was dealing with it properly, he would have owned up to his family about Ed before being found out. He immediately said the usual awful things to them all and is dangerously self-interested

And are you forgetting how he’s behaved to Fallon, Hannah and Kenton? And how he’s intentionally hurt Ed twice and hasn’t owned up or what he might have done to his sister ? He is dangerous and the family who have supported him all through have just seen this.

For the sake of tomorrow night maybe, but he’s deliberately hit Ed twice and never owned up. So often people give domestic abusers too many chances and then they kill someone. He obviously creeps Amber out too.

I think this is the culmination of all the lies and self-justification George and abusers like him use. It’s never really their fault so ‘Ed just kept going on’ etc. We don’t know why his sister doesn’t want to be with him either. He turns nasty when challenged and is a danger to others.

Oh so it’s her fault he’s making bad choices, is it?
December 29, 2025 at 7:53 PM
No it isn’t. A loss of a child, especially a young one, is often particularly difficult at milestone birthdays because it’s hard to imagine what they’d be like. So celebrating is a way of remembering they had a life that had meaning for them and their loved ones.

Ah! I must have tuned out when she said that. ‘proud’ is a very loaded word I think.

Is that a compliment or a criticism?

Well that’s a shame. It’s not Rutger’s fault and he is very thought-provoking.
