The Midwife's Apprentice by Karen Cushman is a YA historical fiction, but it's pretty well researched. Set in medieval England.

Arlington does have an eviction prevention/emergency financial assistance program, but there is far greater need than the resources available.

Folks should contact 703-228-1300 or [email protected] to explore this option/see what other programs might be available

(I should specify: the resources are there, but the agency isn't facilitating them necessarily)

Lots of good resources for feds at my agency's level, but the local and statewide resources are a bit of a gap.

Gov't employee but not presently furloughed, but I have friends who are. Most aren't sure of their rights as renters (if any). Can they request delayed payments for their monthly rent without getting exorbitant fees, etc? MD has certain renter protections, but many aren't sure what is codified in VA

I've also been obsessed with the ancients lately! Greece, Macedon, and Persia for me.

Shameless self-pitch, but if you're into fiction on this time period, my latest work is about Alexander the Great and very much ancient Greek-y. No prior knowledge required.

Awesome, best of luck!

And yeah, they used to be one of the better platforms, but they've gotten overly restrictive. Mature themes are part of life, and it's far better to let users self-select their preferred content instead of the host site itself controlling it.

Archive of Our Own; it's an online writing community that started mostly with fanfiction but has spread to original works too. (A lot of people are coming from Wattpad since they began censoring their works).

It is not monetized, but it's a good way to get an audience started.

Normally a cat person myself, but I'm sold on this by the title alone. Adorable.

Here is the link that directs to the beginning.

I apologize to everyone being bombarded by my shameless self-promotion posts, but I am coping with the real world lately by simply not existing in it. ❤️❤️
