Medical technologist and Laboratory Manager until I retired a good long time ago now.

I am a very amateur photographer, mostly nature photography and macrophotography.

I live with Hollie - my cat
3 more flowering spring shrubs and trees - 1) white dogwood flower; 2) Florida anise shrub with unpleasant smelling maroon flowers with a unique structure; 3) white mock orange shrub flower which has a slightly orange fragrance. Each adds to the fragrance and color in the landscape. #spring #flowers

Here is another sign of warmer weather just around the corner. A Celeste fig starting its growth and it looks like there will be a plentiful crop. The Celeste fig is small, sweet, and edible right off the tree.

A beautiful sign that spring is near. 1. Forsythia flower against a beautiful blue sky; 2. Lilac bud that will soon add color and fragrance to the backyard.

One good sign of impending Spring - one of my Hellebores has buds which will develop into large dark purple flowers.

This is a photo that a took a few years ago of the Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. I waited for golden hour light. The darkening clouds made a good background for the shot. #maine; #lighthouse; #goldenhour; #photography

My Gerber daisy had some flowers this winter, but we are due for a winter storm this weekend, so I thought I would cut this one to take some lowkey photos. #lowkey; #photography; #flowers

Today is a lazy kind of day, so I've been practicing focus bracketing and stacking. It looks like it has good focus all the way through, and I feel good about it. Today's music while sitting here is Bonnie Raitt. #closeupphotography; #macro; #focusbracketing; #CanonR5

This photo is of a skeletonized pedal from one of the summers Hydrangea flowers. I haven't gotten around to pruning the plants yet so there are some dead ones hanging on. #hydrangea; #macrophotography; #flowers

These are witch-hazel flowers that greet me each morning during this part of the year. They are a strange looking flower but very fragrant. #witchhazel; #wintershrub; #fragrantflower; #floweringshrub

A gentle horse, Bullet, who let me take a photo of his eye. May be a little difficult to see in this small photo, yet there is a reflection of my hand with the phone and standing behind me is my wife. #reflection; #horse; #eyephotography; #closeupphotography;

A lone cypress tree that stands in a small lake. It seemed to me to be a good opportunity to shoot black and white with the trees in reflection. #blackandwhitephotograph; #reflection; #photography; #B&W

I have a witch hazel shrub in my backyard, and these are the buds of the coming witch hazel flowers. The flowers open in our winter, then fill the yard with a strong fragrance which I've come to enjoy.

ET "Phone home". This is a photo of water splashing up from my kitchen faucet into then out of a cupped glass. It takes a little setup to get shots but each one you take is different.

Hollie from a few years ago pegging me to let her stow away in my luggage as we packed for a winter cruise. Of course, she didn't get to go. She would have cramped my party time.

This photo is a macro of oil on water. This type of macrophotography is easy to do and is ideal to do on those cold rainy days which are just around the corner in my area. #macrophotography; #photography
