Just an Alonzo Church guy living in Turing's world

I do physical design on CPU cores at one of those places near Boston

Linux enthusiast, not linux evangelist
Air Riders is really fun. I'm a huge Metroid Prime fan, but I'm pretty skeptical, waiting for reviews.

Will probably buy it eventually, but not feeling a particular urge

Oh no, I hadn't even heard of this, looks really sick.

They seem similar for my use, might look at both. Before I found Actix I was doing actors, just writing it all by hand in Tokio for each actor lol

I had to take an art gened in undergrad and said of this statue "interesting to see such explicit sexual themes in a piece of religious work"

and my MFA professor responded "It's not meant to be sexual!"

lol. lmao.

Instead, we're doing actors baby. CPU? Actor. Bus? Actor.

Message passing all the way down

Basically I want a Board struct that owns a CPU struct and a Bus struct, with the Bus struct owning all memory-related dinguses

This means the CPU has to have a reference to Memory, which normally means a bunch of borrows and refcells and rc's

My mistake, was thinking RCA for the Midwest

Honestly depending on your industry all the real stuff happened decades ago in either the Midwest for Bell Labs or New England for the rest

Tbh they didn't invent the iPhone, if The Entrepreneurial State is to be believed

It's kind of just small computer with radio

Oh interesting, that makes sense. Yeah I've seen that a bit with the EU motorcycle licensing; a good idea imo

I'm really hoping we get these Renault/Alpine hatches over here, those look basically perfect

I love that, lol

You ever watch Aging Wheels on youtube? If I've learned anything from him it's that something in US safety regulations convinces us to design these as 3-wheelers, so they classify as motorcycles for safety purposes and stay extremely niche

Also an awesome car. Definitely the best form factor out there, looking forward to when we get little electric shitboxes in the US someday

The little per-key addressable SMD LEDs with 4 legs are kind of a pain in general tbh

They're super temperature sensitive so soldering them to a ground plane is really tough. Almost want to spot weld them or something

Finally switched to my Sofle at work. Had a weird power grid issue with it where if I turn the RGB brightness all the way up with the color set to white, the right (secondary) board's power sags and dies lol

I think one of the LED's is just bad. Works great otherwise
