‘And No One Cheered’ is the best book title ever because it’s about us and power.
The first thing 'barbarous whites' is what Smith said in 1749. The second thing 'contempt' is what he published in 1759. The one is a draft of the other. This is overwhelmingly clear once you see surrounding text. The mention of skin colour in 1759 sits right beside the 'contempt' passage.

Down the street from us. My 5 yr old, a second after this, gave a perfectly timed ‘oh baby.’ She’s otherwise maturing wonderfully #Montreal

My daughter is saying ‘big, little, big, little,’ as she dips her lolipop in my fine mangosteen seltzer. Tell me the physics of this, understandable by a 5 year old, so that the event is on the whole a good one.

The Canadian Broadcaster explains Canadian university athletics by referencing American.

That absolutely is wise and I’m very glad Canadians don’t care about Canadian university sports (basically no scholarships for them), but notable given trade what-have-yous.

Copper coloured, I guess. Yes, the screen thing needs cleaning. I love the thing.

Felt like -27. Felt like 3000 pounds of snow. The feeling of driving out of that? Felt like the ‘89 Grey Cup (Riders 43-40 over the Ti-Cats).

Feels like -26 doesn’t capture it.

Remember the Eat-More ‘chocolate’ bar? It just occurred to me that the name is funny. Eat more of what? The other fella’s candy offering? It’s commendable, and so *Caper that they didn’t go with ‘Buy-More-Of-These.’

Curious dedication. This is Stephen Toulmin, The Place of Reason in Ethics.

Remember FR Scott’s poem, “Dedication”? I just did. That’s it. I just remembered it and wanted to tell you I did.

University of Michigan Christmas album, 1974. Two years later if UofM put out another like it my dad would have been on it (he worked first and then went to school). Madonna would have been on it as well, they overlapped.

See, this what bugs me. So, they don’t like it. Not liking it does not violate anything that economics establishes as true. It’s perfectly possible to a) get the economics, but b) dislike this pricing, and c) permit such pricing.

Also not absurd to (a) get it (b) dislike it and (c) forbid it.

Rousseau and George Burns were right, the key to successful parenting is to give your kids autonomy, once you can fake that you e got it made.

(I’m not in thrall to) Neil Young (but he sometimes) reminds me of NDP lead Allan Blakeney (who is human, so, often bad). Blakeney: Rhodes scholar, Oxford hockey star, told me (not only me)‘triple, quadruple tuition, fund the needy and worthy; fund palliative, research, and youth health, let me go.’

Liam Bright (I’m not breaking news) does good public facing work in Philosophy. And I’m glad I said what I said here. I think maybe it’s true, about me and about Smith (and about Marx).
