A lot of people misunderstand the nature of this relationship. You can totally ask your elected officials to find a solution, even if you don’t have the solution, yourself. That’s why we elected them. You can even vote them out if they don’t solve it. That’s how this is supposed to work.

Sort of astonished how many voters runner cover for their own electeds to not even try to do their job.

"why has trust in experts been eroded?" idk maybe it has something to do with how misinformation has a multi-million dollar marketing budget and an infectious disease researcher has a $0 one.
