Fun, 8 hour Saturday doing Neurolinguistics and Psycholinguistics lab for K-2 kids (can’t share pictures of the kids until the release forms come through, sadly).
Good list for anyone who has better things to do than be trolled by your own tax dollars.

Co-author of the neurolinguistics book I ever read, and definitely contributed to my interest in the field. RIP.
I'm so sorry to share that Friedemann Pulvermüller, brilliant neuroscientist, has passed. He gave Embodiment ideas legs and worked tirelessly on treatments for stroke victims during his storied career. His kindness and wry humor made him sparkle.

Now that Halloween programming is abundant, I have to drop my hot take: Ghost-based horror stories aren’t scary. The worst thing they can do to you is kill you, in which case you apparently just become a ghost? Except now you don’t pay rent, and your only job is to shut doors and play with dolls.
I clicked on a couple of Facebook posts about this out of morbid curiosity how many people were buying into it, and now I’m stuck in an algorithmic sinkhole of AI-generated comet fantasies, there’s so much nonsense out there.
Any downsides to having a country’s military financially beholden to a single, mysterious benefactor? Brainstorming rn

Special education isn't a "nice thing to have." It isn't "charity" or doing something to make us feel better. It is a right. The right to a Free Appropriate Public Education is codified in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, signed by a Republican president.
U.S. Department of Education fired nearly everyone in the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services in a wave of new layoffs that began Friday, according to the union representing the agency's employees. www.usatoday.com/story/news/e...
