I usually don't find signing/notarizing to be as big of a nuisance as people usually claim it to be, but in this particular all I can say is a bemused "wow".

macOS keychain return codes don't appear to differ depending on whether a cert is currently valid or not. If a cert expires, you just get the standard "error code 1" with nothing further to go on.

Only after loading + inspecting the keychain itself did I find it flagged the cert as expired. Sigh.

Obligatory "whiskey shouldn't necessarily cause this": yeah, I know. It's baffling. This is an apparently not uncommon sore spot for some people.

Easiest way to rule out/confirm/etc is to just try something like this tho *shrug*
