Former journo for a site you might have read. W-Mass community evangelist, volunteer, and town representative. Holder of strong and sometimes retrospectively wrong opinions.

VP of US Vibes at a PR joint, but my career doesn’t define me.
Wish I had the skill to run a business model that would let me handle those other parts while other folk handle the content. kinda sounds fun.

Need more worker-owned cooperatives for media/content.

“Investment” here acknowledges a fundamental problem with our society. It’s saying “I have too much! And that inequality entitles me to MORE!” Rather than everyone saying “You know, we could all simply have enough, right?”

The greed and entitlement of “investing” in a basic need, yuck.

I, personally, would like another drive name option with some crunch to it. A bit more crispy and crusty to better reflect that much-needed, fragile, toothsome data storage sensation.

The most common answer for many of our clients is for a product name to appear in an answer, whether for a related product category search or for an LLM to mention directly in some other context to encourage purchase. So further down the sales funnel than the typical SEO goal/brand awareness.

You can do The Verge or you can do The Valnet. You can build your own house on its own foundation or you can build one on top of someone else’s and simply hope it never moves.

One of these strategies works, the other does not.

The only good, long-term, sustainable traffic strategy PERIOD is audience development. Write good shit that people want to read so those people come back, and make them want to!

Everything else is either unsustainable third-party platform reliance or pseudoscientific numberwang bullshit.

This was the BEST cereal as a kid. Had that faux-healthy Kix marketing but none of the actual health related sugar mitigation.
