Can't disagree on that one RE the foot dragging on Perks' part. The calls for bike lanes on that street started even before the Avilas were killed in October 2021.

That line about infrastructure to slow down drivers - while technically correct - is rich coming from someone who restricted the ability of cities to put in a particular one last year which actually works. If Ford doesn't want speed cameras, then REPEAL BILL 212 NOW! #shame #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli

A new motion risks delaying or even shelving the Sheppard Ave E Complete Street indefinitely. Nothing in Bill 212 blocks the City from proceeding with the project. Tell the City we need leadership that stands firm, and not let fear of bullying block our progress.

- Limiting third party election advertising
- Slashing Toronto City Council mid-election
- Undermining education workers' labour rights

MM33.5 - In light of the provincial government’s distaste for new bike lanes, Councillor Shelley Carroll is moving to put a pin in the construction of cycling infrastructure on Sheppard East between Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street. “Proceeding with the tender and construction of this project prior to receiving provincial approval may risk the project being halted or the infrastructure being removed at the direction of the Minister, resulting in wasted public funds and further project delays,” says Carroll. Cycling advocate Robert Zaichkowski thinks Council should stand firm and push forward with the procurement process.
