It is, especially now cars have engine management software and other crap. It's difficult to be independent when so much depends on the dealer network.

The tyre was split so the stupid can of foam it's got would have been useless. Even if I'd had a spare wheel, I doubt I've got the strength now to unto the bolts.

I was glad my car is quite big and heavy*. I might have flipped over with something small.

And I drove over three ENORMOUS potholes and burst a front tyre today. Car full of stuff and a dog on board. Local garage saved the day, took me home, and I'll pick up the car from them tomorrow.

Pot holes have been reported four times already. The council will be footing whatever my bill is.

Also, as I was quite a bossy child who did well at school I was told I'd make a good teacher. So I became one. It's been ok and I've mostly enjoyed it, but I sometimes wish I'd taken a different path and been an engineer, or an artist.
