Busy ≠ Progress.

If you’ve spent months tweaking onboarding, redesigning logos, & reading startup threads—but still have no users, no sales, no feedback—ask yourself:

“What would I do if I had to get a real result in 7 days?”

Then do only that.

Everything else is noise.

“LinkedIn is just spam and selfies.”

Founders say this a lot—and they’re not wrong.

→ DMs = pitch bots
→ Feed = engagement bait
→ “Coffee chats” = cold sales

It’s messy.

Which is exactly why showing up as a real human makes you stand out.

Talk. Share. Be useful. Repeat.

“LinkedIn isn’t hitting the same.”

I'm hearing this a lot.
Engagement is down. Reach is weird. Algorithm? Who knows.
But: Linkedin is still the best B2B growth channel—if you adapt.
- Post consistently
- Comment like a human
- Optimize your profile
- Build real relationships

It still works.

Content or design? Wrong question.

It’s not content vs. design. It’s content with design.

1️⃣ Lead magnets → Clean layout = readable
2️⃣ Social posts → Eye-catching visuals = shareable
3️⃣ Landing pages → Good UX = lower bounce rate
4️⃣ Emails → Scannable sections = higher engagement

Common mistake: Trying everything at once.

→ Content marketing
→ Cold outreach
→ Paid ads
→ Social media

Reality: Each channel needs at least 90 days of focus to know if it works.

Info is everywhere... but stories? That's the 🍵 everybody wants.

So instead of “How to,” share “How I” content.

Example:
❌ How to build a website
✅ How I built a website in 24 hours

Share your messy wins, your learnings, your unique story. That's what people dig in.

Energy management > Time management

1️⃣ Do high-energy tasks when your energy is at its peak.
2️⃣ Take breaks before you burnout (90-min work > rest > work ).
3️⃣ Cut energy-drainers—delegate, automate or push to another time of the day.

Manage your energy, not just your time.

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.

I know this is cheesy, but I’m going to say it anyway: Don’t forget to show up for yourself. For awhile I stopped doing my long weekend runs and I’ve been back at it for several weeks and it makes all the difference. Whatever your thing is, don’t stop doing it!

Stop churning out content pieces and start building content assets.

The difference?

➡️ Fills the calendar vs. fuels business growth
➡️Short shelf life vs. long-term value
➡️One-and-done vs. multi-use across teams
➡️Random posts vs. aligned with revenue goals

More content ≠ better results.

AI-generated comments suck. Use AI to add value:

✅ Automating repetitive tasks
✅ Spotting patterns in data
✅ Speeding up research
✅ Extracting customer insights
✅ Finding fresh content angles

Use AI to think better, not faking engagement.

Hugely excited to see more reporters, columnists, editors, producers, press corps folks making the jump!

Would just like to remind everyone that you can put links in your posts here without getting killed by the algorithm, like the good old days elsewhere. Link loud, link proud.

What’s obvious to you might be someone else’s $1,000 idea.

I’ve dismissed so many “basic” ideas—only to see others turn them into premium offers.

Founders: your workflows, insights, and lessons are valuable.

Share what feels obvious. That’s where the real value is.

Stuck on content ideas?

Go back to your posts from 90 days ago.

Find one that performed well.
➡️ Tweak the angle.
➡️ Add new insights.
➡️ Make it personal.

Your audience won’t remember every post—repurpose what worked. No need to reinvent the wheel.

You ever have one of those nights when you’re up late, and you’ve written, deleted, and rewritten a post a couple of dozen times, because you can’t quite get the words right, and you’re sure that no one will be interested in what you have to say anyway? Yeah, probably just me. Nevermind.
