This is why we are never going to 'get through' to friends and family about COVID danger. The problem is that either we are anxious and irrationally afraid to live a normal life - or they are willing to sacrifice the health of their children / grandchildren to avoid facing reality

To all the people saying Johnson should be prosecuted over preventable COVID deaths - YOU ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE DID, saying it's fine now, nothing to worry about. As wrong now as then, as dangerous now as then, same blood on your hands as on his.

You never see the question asked the other way around - why would you NOT wear a mask on public transport where you don't know anyone? That's because the only two possible answers are "I'm too worried about what other people might think", or, "I don't like thinking about COVID", & both are pathetic.

To the generally decent people on here; if there was a new infection that could disable your kids/grandkids, that if you understood you could protect them from and it was clearly understood, you want to learn about it right? Well there is, you could and you refuse to. Please reflect.

In business you used to succeed by being better than the competition, offering better product, giving better service. These days, the company gets sold to a private equity fund who buy all the competitors, hike prices, don't care about service. In politics ....... the exact same thing has happened

I'm genuinely confused. I get 'attack the BBC for right wing bias to deflect from the obvious extreme right wing bias'. But, right wing actually trying to destroy it, when it is their biggest weapon, I don't understand

Just heard someone say, "I'm a parent, there's nothing I wouldn't do for my children". This is what I find so hard about COVID, knowing that everyone I know actually has a very low threshold on this yardstick. Test before meeting up? Listen to or read about the known risk? Not visit them if unwell?

Small note to Green party. Just rec'd email of upcoming events, socials described as 'accessible'. They aren't accessible if they ignore COVID. I am 100% behind Zack, if these sessions help build momentum then great, but I think just don't say they are accessible when they exclude CEV people

Should I believe Indie Sage's Christina Pagel's report that says COVID cases are surging & very little else around & there is no immunity, or Nick Triggle of the BBC who says loads of bugs, all normal, some COVID but we are all immune so not serious now. Serious scientist or lying idiot, hmmm

For those not in the UK, great news, the BBC, our independent news service, not in any way a government propaganda machine, reports brain fog can be cured, phew, just hydrate and get outdoors a bit, thank god the scientists are wrong about brain inflammation.
