The weaponising of child sexual abuse/exploitation by the right is outrageous, ideologically-driven opportunism. Tragically grooming and abuse transcend race, class, religion etc. Society and its structures are wilfully blind to this, and content to look “elsewhere”.
There are more than a million British people with Pakistani heritage in the UK.

For the Shadow Home Secretary to suggest they have an "alien" and "medieval" culture and to smear them by association with the crimes of a tiny minority, is the politics of the far-right gutter.

Here is a New Year's resolution that's easy to keep: For less than the price of a coffee, you can help ensure we keep this important part of the information ecosystem alive and thriving. And annoy Musk. 🥇
I want to thank Elon Musk for attacking Wikipedia for being a part of the internet he can't currently control. It reminded me to donate to support Wikipedia, the best remaining thing about the internet. You can donate here: donate.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?...

Gisèle Pelicot has made a statement leaving the court:
Her voice did break at a couple of moments but she was clear and composed. Showing exactly the same dignity as she has throughout. Apologies for clumsy translation:

The perpetrators deserve every single day of their sentences. This is so important. Gisèle Pelicot is brave beyond words. As she rightly said the shame of these crimes is on society not victim/survivors. #endviolenceagainstwomen
