people going to AI instead of just DIYing seems to fall under the ever present theme of people being afraid of genuinely trying something because they think it’ll come off as cringe

alien earth episode 4: robot protag can “hear” alien communication above 20 kHz. No other robot can (??? Despite it being a SOUND). Humans ask her to make the sound, so she does. Despite it being above 20 kHz, the humans can hear it. Why didn’t they just record it with a mic and pitch it down?
