Recently I read ‘A Room Above A Shop’ by Anthony Shapland. It reminded me of the film ‘Pride’ and the use of language was so heartfelt. Not many works can make me cry but Shapland must have a knack for making tear ducts work overtime.

Read the entire ‘The Republic of Motherhood’ poetry collection by Liz Berry yesterday. My personal favourites were ‘Sky Birth’ and ‘The Steps’. Very interesting in terms of representation of Motherhood across all the poems!

Currently reading ‘In Memoriam’ by Alice Winn. It isn’t my usual read but I have been enjoying it — though I do think there is a bit too much dialogue in places.
