Nice! Always wanted to try dedicating a full month for „free roaming“ where devs could just tackle whatever they felt most important or annoying. we tried to do it in December which turned out to be our busiest time of the year. 🥹

Maybe we’ll try again in May or something 😅

Sure, that can work for most smaller projects and we do that too. (We split our devs into „focus project“ and „off-week“ rotation)

However, projects like our invoice refactoring are an entirely different beast and quite the challenge to keep up with customer demand, support and working the thing.

Meanwhile, we just spent months refactoring our invoicing system.

Zero visible changes. Nobody will notice. But it was absolutely necessary.

I used to think this tension meant I was doing something wrong.

went through the same thing and changed my approach: I built one home base while keeping the freedom to travel anywhere, anytime. Having a place that’s actually mine, with real relationships, made all the difference. Best of both worlds.

Aaaactully… I fixed the issue we talked about yesterday myself. A simply restart did the trick. Not sure why they couldn't figure that out. 😅
