it's such a niche thing, maybe i'm the only person who has multiple video-only feeds and is bothered by this. there's no way to disable it even if it's my own custom feed I made

for those who don't know what I'm talking about:
bsky.app Bluesky @bsky.app · Jan 20
We had to get in on the video action too — Bluesky now has custom feeds for video!

Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.

The UI is normal on the web version on mobile, it's just the app that's weird. I could just use the web version instead but that comes with its own compromises... I don't think it's an acceptable solution

it's so disorientating needing to go through two full-screen transitions just to be able to see the full text, read replies and click on links or tags. that UI is so clunky and hostile to me, I avoid browsing those feeds on mobile and only do it on my PC

it's annoying how I can't play videos without it going fullscreen. most of the videos in my feeds are landscape, not portrait, so they look bad in the tiktok-style UI. everything about it so clunky I really don't like it (to put it lightly)

I don't understand why it's considered good UI/UX.. (at least the way they implemented here)
from the default feed screen, it takes 2 taps to see the full text of a post or when it was posted, when normally that information would be shown right on the feed (0 taps).

the devs were so proud of making that change (a while back) and the response to it was positive... so I guess i'm the out of touch one that doesn't use tiktok or scroll through reels/shorts. just wish we had the option to disable it

I kinda wanna keep track of what device(s) I made each cart with, would be interesting data to analyse at the end

yep, which surprised me!

wow!!! my jank android setup might not be necessary soon!
Happy New Year All!

In 2026 I'm preparing to confront the final two bosses in #pico8 development: scoresub(), and Android support. Also a specialized .wasm runtime ("p8rt_ios") that can be used to make iOS companion apps for the BBS. More details here: www.reddit.com/r/pico8/comm...

and the tab key on the virtual keyboard I'm using doesn't seem to work at all, so I have to use the spacebar or backspace to adjust indentation. but the modifier keys like ctrl, shift, alt... work great! sure it's slower than using a real keyboard, but writing code on a phone is very manageable!

there are some quirks. anything heavily using the mouse, like the sprite editor, is a bit hit or miss. idk how to consistently click-and-drag-and-release when I want to, or stop accidentally right clicking. or right click when I want to.

I wonder if anyone saw the blog posts and other site changes as I was working on it throughout the day lol. I didn't make the changes offline first, it was all live
January 1, 2026 at 4:53 PM
to be fair, I spent the vast majority of the day working on the website to get it all neat and set up for carts and blog posts. and I managed to get it all done on the day, it was just past midnight by the time I got to sharing everyhing on my socials
