Coastguards rescue six people “in Cornwall” cut off by tide.

There are many sound reasons why Cornwall should be disaggregated from BBC News coverage of ‘the south west’ - high amongst them is a woeful ignorance of the area - Woolacombe is in Devon.

‘One size fits all’ disadvantaging Cornwall. Again.

Policies (or indices) designed by the centre and applied from the centre fail Cornwall time and again. Devolve now! 〓〓

The people of today’s Cornwall were trading tin with the people of today’s Palestine (Levant) some 4,000 years ago. Such trade with the eastern Mediterranean continued into the sixth century CE - with unprecedented amounts of pottery once holding wine and oil found at Tintagel #Palestine

@jaynekirkhammp.bsky.social is right. Let’s continue to fight for the funding, powers, recognition and respect Kernow deserves from the UK Government, and not simply argue our case from within the paradigm of an ‘English’ Devolution Bill. Would Wales? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Would Scotland? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Cornwall’s national bird (like its national identity) is on the rise - not that the BBC (England, county) would ever see it that way.

On this day in 1644, the Cornish Royalist Army defeated the Parliamentarians at the Battle of Lostwithiel. It would be the heaviest Parliamentarian defeat of the entire Civil War, with thousands taken prisoner, and thousands more chased out of Cornwall by an angry populace.

Cornish MPs have called on Historic England to ensure that its Cornish sites reflect Cornwall’s national history and status.

They say Cornwall’s heritage is not “a subset of English history”.

Even better would be to call for all Cornish heritage sites to be run from Cornwall.
