Well, you 'created' the fucker, God. What the fuck were you thinking of, you despicable cheap-shit amateur deity? Like weren't Genghis Khan, Julius Caesar, Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin and latterly fucking Netan-yahoo enough for your sick and twisted sense of fucking humour? Fuck you.

I need some help from a proficient Cornish language speaker please! I paint landscapes & when my work is based on my homeland I always use the Cornish language as titles. The trouble is I don't speak it. Literal translations from English don't always work poetically so a little conversation 1/2

Will always help if possible, but I'm also not proficient ... yet! A lot of us have this problem, as there is a shortage of Cornish teachers. I'm a retired English teacher, so I understand grammar pretty well, at least.

A fine point of grammar, that. :)

"By Tre-, Pol- and Pen-, ye shall know your Cornishmen", I was taught as a kid, and it's clear that really old British placenames are everywhere, not just in the modern Celtic nations.

“Should anyone present know of any reason why this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or-“

“You don’t have to do this, Sarah.”
An officiant and a couple stand at the altar. A seated golden retriever places its paw on the bride's hand.

Rag an studhyoryon kernewek:

Yn = In.

Ow = my, which causes 3rd (or 'breathed') mutation. This changes K to H, P to F and T to TH (in other words, unvoiced plosives to fricatives).

Fenn = head, which is in the dictionary as 'penn', but after the breathed mutation, becomes 'fenn'.

Happening right now - to a country near you
Cartoon. Caption says “Those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it. Yet those who do study history are doomed to stand by helplessly while everyone else repeats it.”

It looks we need to translate "1000s of sentences" of game dialogue into Cornish.

We can do this!

Thinking, as I post these hedgerow berries, of Diane Purkiss' excellent chapter on foraging in her book 'English Food, a people's history' which she discusses in this interview with @neilbuttery.bsky.social:
