The framing of the Province's Planning Order is quite something. They rejected the Regional Plan because of watercourse setbacks and EVs, didn't understand the consequences, and now have to issue an order to fix the mess they created. It's HRM's fault though! Just wild.

Today: A busy one. Sportsplex board to start, e-newsletter, meeting with Canoe-Kayak and Councillor Mancini, Environment Standing Committee, and then Downtown Dartmouth Heritage District Open House.

Today: Tour of the MacPhee Centre with the Mayor and Councillor Mancini, coffee with a resident, newsletter this afternoon, and then community safety assessment in Harbourview (area around the splash pad) with residents and staff

Today: It's a Regional Council day. Major item on the agenda for District 5, infill bylaw for Dartmouth Cove. Council rejected staff's advice this AM and gave first reading to bylaw amendments. Bike-lanes don’t cause traffic congestion.

Car dependency, foolish land-use sprawl, too many (& bigger) cars driving too much taking up too much space, highly subsidized driving costs, and not enough choices in how to get around, ALL cause traffic congestion.

Think about it. THAT’S common sense.

A nice morning for a Dartmouth ride. Over 100 parents and kids rode from the Findlay Community Centre down to the playground at Ferry Terminal Park. Happy to have tagged along as part of kidical mass!
